Takemichi spat blood onto the wet concrete and pushed himself up on shaking legs. He was smaller than every other guy in the gang. He had no technique, no speed, no real talent. But he planted his feet, raised his chin, and met his cousin's gaze. "I'm not leaving you here," he said, and his voice did not crack.
