Toman was not born in a boardroom; it was forged in a fistfight between two teenagers who saw the same empty street and decided, together, that it would belong to them. Mikey and Draken built the gang from a handful of misfits into the most feared biker crew in their district, and the Officers were the first to swear the oath. Over time the circle grew—Baji with his unbreakable loyalty, Mitsuya as Mikey's blood-brother, Kazutora, Inui, Kaku, and later Tetta—each adding a different edge to the gang's identity.

What sets the Officers apart from the rank-and-file is not just rank but proximity to Mikey's duality. The "black trigger"—the sudden, terrifying shift in Mikey's personality that strips away his warmth and leaves only cold, calculating violence—lands hardest on those closest to him. Draken has absorbed that blow more times than anyone, and the tension between protecting the gang and protecting the leader is the central wound that runs through every arc of the story.

Their territory is marked not by painted walls alone but by the sheer density of black-jacketed riders on any given street. Toman Officers are the ones who call the shots in a turf war, who decide whether a rival gang gets a warning or a beating, and who, in the end, must decide whether the gang is worth saving when its own leader becomes the threat.

In Their Own Story

The Koenji back-alleys smell of exhaust and cheap yakitori smoke. Draken leans against a parked bike, cracking his knuckles, watching the street while the Officers huddle under a flickering neon sign. Mikey is three streets over, already gone into the quiet that means trouble. Baji's jaw is set. Mitsuya's hand is on his phone, dialing and hanging up, dialing again. None of them say the name of the rival gang that just crossed the line. They don't need to. The engines will start in ten minutes, and the black jackets will swallow the street whole. That is what the Officers are for: the calm before the roar, the brotherhood that holds when the leader's eyes go dark.

Reader's Guide

Toman was founded by Mikey and Draken after a street confrontation that turned two rivals into co-leaders of a new gang. From that spark, the Officers circle formed: Mikey as the undisputed leader, Draken as his vice and closest confidant, followed by Baji (Ken Ryuguji), Mitsuya Sano (Mikey's younger brother), Kazutora Kenji, Inui Takashi, and Kaku Kakashi as the core executive tier. Tetta Tetsumi later joined the Officers as the gang expanded.

Their territory is a densely populated district in Tokyo, staked out through a combination of intimidation, loyalty networks, and the simple fact that a wall of black-leather-jacketed riders on motorcycles is hard to argue with. The visual identity is unmistakable: long black leather coats bearing the Toman emblem, biker boots, and the gang's signature tattoo markings. The Officers wear the same base uniform but are distinguished by their position in the hierarchy and, in some cases, additional personal tattoos.

The gang's rise is a story of repeated turf dominance over rivals like Tetsuoyan, Moebius, and Bonten, each conflict testing the Officers' cohesion. The peak comes when Toman controls the district outright and seems untouchable. The fracture, however, is internal: Mikey's "black trigger" episodes repeatedly threaten to tear the group apart, and the Officers must choose between blind loyalty and the harder path of confronting their own leader. Alliances with outside gangs are tactical and temporary; the real war is the one fought in the space between Mikey's smile and Mikey's silence.
